Wood Veneer Doors
Our wood veneer doors are finished in the factory using a UV-cured, water-based system, a process that offers greater durability than many wood flooring finishes. This finish complies with WDMA TR-8 and AWS System 9 standards and is available in a wide variety of stain colors.
Here’s how to properly care for your factory-finished wood veneer doors:
1. Routine Cleaning
Use a clean, damp cloth and a mild detergent to remove dust or surface dirt. Wipe in the direction of the wood grain for best results.
2. Avoid Harsh Products
Do not use furniture polishes, as they can lead to wax build-up. Stay away from abrasive cleaners or tools, which may scratch or dull the surface.
3. Appreciate Natural Variations
We use only ‘A’ or ‘AA’ grade wood veneers, but keep in mind: wood is a natural product. Variations in color, grain, or small markings are completely normal and add to the door’s unique character. Some species may react differently to stains due to these inherent traits.
What Makes Factory Finishing a Better Option?
Field finishing often presents challenges like inconsistent results, environmental limitations, and jobsite restrictions. Our factory-finished doors eliminate those issues, giving you a high-quality, controlled finish from the start—saving both time and labor onsite.
High Pressure Decorative Laminate (HPDL) Doors
HPDL doors are known for their resilience and easy maintenance, making them ideal for high-traffic areas. Here’s how to keep them looking their best:
1. Cleaning Basics
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth or sponge using mild soap or detergent. For deeper cleaning, general-purpose cleaners such as:

can be used safely, as long as they’re non-abrasive.
2. Peel Coat Notice
Some laminate finishes are shipped with a protective peel coat (as required by the manufacturer). Please note: WKS Door Systems does not remove these coatings, this must be done onsite, prior to installation.
